What the hell is holyywood? Lmao "2000 was hhh year"... kid, by your logic 1998 was vince mcmahons year not austins. Rock was everywhere in 2000-2002 and I mean everywhere from mad tv skits, saturday night live skits (was even the host) jimmy kimmel etc. No other wrestler has an avenue named after them or to be the one to unveil microsofts newest product at the time the Xbox right alongside bill gates himself, guest staring in star trek voyager, that 70's show etc.

Rock and jericho also had memorable moments mixed with both comedy and seriousness (that led to jericho being pushed which in turn led to him being the 1st undisputed champion and last wcw champion) Rock was hugly over in 99 he was like how austin was in 97 over as hell with the crowd but stuck in the tag team divison (shawn michaels and austin as a tag team that year) - mid card division, rock in 01 was all over the media 01 also.

99 was Austin's year. The Rock was getting bigger at that time (after Backlash) but he was still nowhere as close as Austins 'level' As for 01, BOTH was big that year, they had a wrestlemania match, Austin turned heel, the rock on "suspension", Austin teamed with Triple h which they both had the WWF, IC and Tag team titles, Austin started the 'What?' chants, Austin and Angle did some great comedy backstage, Austin developed he's character, he was a face/heel/face... So yea... 01 was Austin year

wait 99 all austin...WUT also 01 austin was the heel he wasn't the face of the company like rock was, rock in kayfabe literally is the reason why the alliance is no more since he pinned their leader (austin) in the winner take all match at survivor series.
